Summary of the Roundtable Experience for Supervisors- Winter/Spring 2012

    Join a group of 6-12 community leaders for a training, peer support, and networking opportunity that will help you become a more effective and inspiring supervisor. The Supervisor Roundtable will meet 1st Thursdays from 9am-12pm from March through June of 2012. This interactive and collaborative series of meetings will provide an opportunity for participants to share best practices, sharpen their supervisory skills, and reflect on the “art of supervision.” For further growth and individualized training, participants are encouraged to register for one-on-one Professional Coaching. Clock Hours are are available upon request.

Outcomes

Participants will:


  1. select session topics and receive training on subjects related to effective supervision and leadership. Topics may include, but are not limited to, Situational Leadership, Ethical Leadership, Conflict Management, Dealing w/ Disciplinary Issues, Volunteer Recruitment, Facilitation Skills, Meeting Management, Cultural Competency, Anti-oppression & Ally Work


  1. build a collaborative learning community by sharing resources and strategies to develop more effective leadership skills. Open and free flowing discussions will give participants the opportunity to seek advice, share best practices, and discover innovative ways to work as a team.

Who Benefits from the Supervisor Roundtable?


The Supervisor Roundtable is designed for non-profit & public sector employees seeking additional support in providing effective leadership for their staff and/or volunteers. Program Directors, Program Managers, Executive Directors, Volunteer Coordinators, AmeriCorps Leaders and anyone in a supervisory or leadership position are welcome to attend.
